ALRC National Rally

If you are going the ALRC National Rally being hosted by Midland ROC next week, Richard Banks is asking for volunteers to help at scrutineering.  You don’t have to commit to every day but any help would be appreciated and speed up the process for the competitors.

I would be grateful if club secretaries could pass on this information to those members planning to attend.

Please contact Richard at richardbanks195@btinternet.com  to offer your services.

Yealmpton Show!

“Yealmpton show, 29th July 2015. Landrover static display, C & D have been invited to exhibit vehicles as per the criteria set out below.

I know the field is wide, but what I had in mind is about 10-15 vehicles in date order, each exemplifying its own period. So 1948-58 series 1 may be showing the shift into 88s and 107. Then 1958 series 11 and 1961 11a. I think we should be looking for “unmessed about” models if possible. Then may a 1968′ ish BMC Light eight.1970s Series111 short and long wheel base, 1983 one ten,1984 Ninety and 1990s Defender.
I have a Willies Jeep to start the row to show its historical foundation and I have call on a number of early vehicles. If you could identify what you would like to show in the sort of frame above I can fill in the spaces and we will have an historical the line up.I think there will be some media interest. The Landy Magazine will be doing an article and possibly others are interested. Solihull are giving me some history and flags

When you know who wants to come I will send you an entry form for each vehicle. The driver gets free entry to the Show and then they can write out a cheque to “Yealmpton Show” for as many half price (£5) tickets they want.

Any one interested please contact phil_heys@msn.com by the 25th of May”
