SWLRC Mendip Challenge!

Information received from SWLRC –
I am contacting you on behalf of the Somerset and Wiltshire Land Rover Club to give you details about this years Mendip Challenge, as some of your members may know last year we decided to try out changing the days around for the RTV and CCV. However we have now made a decision to revert to the original system with RTV on Saturday 10th and CCV on Saturday 11th.
Also this year we have decided to introduce a Team Trophy for each competition, where three drivers of one discipline, RTV or CCV, can compete for an overall lowest score.
More information and a downloadable booking form is available at www.somersetandwiltshirelrc.co.uk/mendipchallenge.

New Comp Safari site

We have been given access to an exciting new site for use as Comp Safari ground, this site is situated very close to the Wadebridge show ground, it has good access and various options for tracks. The first event to be held at the site is the Comp Safari on 19th April, it would be great if we could have a good support for this event with competitors, Marshalls and spectators. The exact location of the site will be posted soon!

ALRC Matters – Majors Memorial Trial 2015

Below is a message received from Midland ROC.

After very careful consideration over the last couple of months, it has been decided that the MROC will NOT be putting on the Major’s Memorial Trial in September 2015.

As a club, we are fully committed to putting on this year’s ALRC National Rally at Eastnor over the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May.  As those of you who may have been involved in organising this big event within your clubs will understand, it takes much time and energy, and the competition land used needs time to recover. We feel that running the Major’s event a few short months later would be an overuse of the competition grounds that we are fortunate enough to have access to. We also feel that our club members will, by then, need a break from all the organising and laying out!

We hope that you will all understand our reasons behind cancelling this year’s Major’s Memorial Trial, but we would very much like to welcome you all back in 2016 to both Easter at Eastnor which will be an open event, and then the Major’s, which will be held on the weekend of 16th-18th September 2016.
