Stock Amnesty

Club amnesty.
If anyone has any club stock, please can they return it to any committee member. We are missing weather writers, first aid kits, motorsport signs, canes, arrows, wires, marshal jackets and other things that I haven’t mentioned. The Club cannot go on sustaining equipment misplacement, so if you have any thing you have “borrowed” please can you return it. Thanks

The Landy!

The Landy is different to other LR titles in two big ways. One, it’s a tabloid newspaper, not a traditional magazine. Two, it’s FREE! We’re distributing it via a wide range of outlets in print form, and we’ll also be doing a digital version which can be viewed online whenever you want.
We’re going to have a busy news section, including extensive coverage of club activities. So I’d like to invite you to let us know about all the news you as a club, and your members, have got going on.
We’re interested in all sorts:
• Stories from your events, shows, trail-rides etc
• Members who’ve just bought / built / restored a Land Rover
• News of upcoming events
• Any issues of concern to Landy owners
• General members’ stories – however big or small, we’re interested if there are Land Rovers involved!
I’d be delighted for you to share this message with your fellow club officials, and indeed with your members (I’m happy for them to contact me direct on alan.kidd@assignment-media.co.uk, or via the club if you’d prefer).
I will of course let you know when the first issue is available to view online. In the meantime, many thanks for your attention, and I very much look forward to spreading the word about your club in The Landy very soon!
Best regards
Alan
NB: As you may know, Assignment Media already publishes Total Off Road magazine, which will be continuing as before. I’ve distributed this to everyone I emailed about the relaunch of TOR this time last year, so please accept my apologies if I’ve included any non-LR clubs by accident!

Time Trials – Ready, Steady GO!

Hi all, the new Time Trial season is nearly upon us, and as promised we have got 4 Time Trials in the calendar for 2014 at 4 different venues.  Also as said we are running a league so for all those wishing to enter please check up on what you need to take part, ie. a crash helmet to meet current regs and a MSA comp licence.  This is obtainable via the MSA and is the non race clubman licence.  Now as for wheels, you can bring any CCV or Comper, and any size engine, because these Time Trials are a great leveller.  However there will be classes depending on numbers, the big engine is not always the quickest. As for the general idea of what to do its simple, there are three sections set out like a trial, with big gates that are numbered and on the word Go drive as quick as you can on the section against the clock going through every gate in numerical order whilst remaining in control at all times.  Now if you miss one you can slip back and find it and try again, however don’t hit it, that brings with it a penalty now when everyone has done their first lap, you can walk the section and see where you can improve and off you go again even faster.  Once everyone has completed their three laps its off to the next section. Each section is 320 meters long so now you have all the info come and give it ago. If you don’t have time to get a licence sorted before the 12th of January for the first Time Trial you can bring a photo and a completed form on the day.
